Severe fire explosion rocks Ajuwon area of Iju, Lagos State.
The incident happened at exactly 3:30pm this afternoon, Thursday, September 24, 2020.
An eyewitness who broke the news to Ekohotblog.com said the explosion was from a gas tanker in Cele bus stop, around Ajuwon/ Iju area, Lagos.
Although we have not confirmed the number of casualties recorded from the incident, but the videos sent to us shows that some people have sustained injuries.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Agency, Nosa Okunbor, said, “LASEMA Response Team is at Cele Bus Stop, Iju Ishaga. There is a gas explosion. Operation ongoing,” he added.

Also speaking on the report, the DG/CEO LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu said the explosion happened at Cele Bus stop, Iju Ishaga.
”On the arrival of the Tiger Squad, Alausa Secretariet at the scene, it was discovered that there was a gas explosion at the aforementioned address.
Further investigation gathered revealed that an unknown truck conveying Gasoline had a lone accident, resulting in it’s explosion.
The impact of the explosion led to fire on adjoining buildings and several vehicles burnt. Several persons were injured and have been taken to the nearest hospital for treatment.
The inferno is being battled by the combined efforts of LASEMA Responders and Fire Team, LASG Fire Service, Nigeria Police Force and NSCDC. Dampening down ongoing.
