A storey building at Ladipo, in the Mushin area of Lagos State, was on Wednesday engulfed by fire, EKO HOT BLOG has gathered.
The Director-General of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the inferno on Wednesday.
The LASEMA boss stated that the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained, adding that efforts were on to put out the inferno.
Oke-Osanyintolu, who noted that the Agency received distress calls on the incident around 6am on Wednesday, further noted that no casualties have been recorded.

He said, “The Agency received distress calls around 6am and activated its response plan. On arrival, the LRT discovered a storey building engulfed in flames.
“The cause of the fire could not be ascertained now and no casualties have been recorded.
“Joint responders comprising the Agency and its fire service, LASG Fire service are on ground making efforts to put the fire under control and prevent it from spreading to surrounding buildings. The operation is ongoing and further updates will follow,” the LASEMA boss stated.
Also confirming the incident, the Acting Zonal Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, said the inferno started about 4am on Wednesday.
The NEMA Coordinator disclosed that a shop containing car accessories worth millions of naira was destroyed by the fire outbreak.
Farinloye, who added that the shops housed vehicle air conditioners, engine oil, paints, and other car accessories, said the firefighters had a tough time putting out the fire as one of the shops had inflammable accessories.
He, however, noted that no one was trapped or died in the fire outbreak.
