The students blocked access to the airport by closing down domestic terminal one, also known as the General Aviation Terminal, and terminal two, which are run by Bi-Courtney Aviation Service Limited of the Airport and the MMA. Some domestic and international flights were rescheduled as a result.

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress, attended the demonstration and joined the students, assuring them of his support.

NANS is asking the Federal Government to resolve the ongoing strike action by ASUU, which began on February 14, 2022.
