A former Inspector General of the Nigeria Police, Gambo Jimeta, is dead.
As gathered by EkoHotBlog, that Jimeta died on Thursday evening, 21st January 2021.
Conveying the condolences of his family and that of the government and people of Nigeria, the President described the late crack Gambo Jimeta as “a man of great courage, intellect and a true Nigerian Statesman.”

Buhari in a series of tweets on Thursday night through the senior special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu said:
“Today, Nigeria lost a great son. He lived for the nation and served with all his strength,” Buhari said”.
“May Allah bless his soul and give fortitude to the bereaved family, the government and people of Adamawa State to bear this irreparable loss,” President Buhari prayed”.
Gambo Jimeta was appointed in 1986 to succeed Etim Inyang and was succeeded by Aliyu Attah in 1990.
He was the National Security Adviser to former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida.
The deceased was a vocal voice on national issues.
