BREAKING: Former Nigerian Senator Is Dead

  • A former Nigerian Senator has been confirmed dead.


EKOHOTBLOG reports that former Senator, Abubakar Abdulazeez Ibrahim, has passed away.

 

The former Senator, EKOHOTBLOG reports, was the younger brother of ex-Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Aisha Jummai Alhassan, popularly known as ‘Mama Taraba’, who died in May 2021.

 

According to a statement issued by the deceased family on Wednesday, Senator Ibrahim died in his house in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital after a brief illness on Tuesday.

He was reported dead at the age of 64.

 

The family further noted that funeral prayers will be conducted at 1.30pm at the palace of Emir of Muri on Wednesday, adding that the late Senator will be buried at Jika da Fari burial ground, where her sister was also buried.

 

EKOHOTBLOG reports that Senator Ibrahim was elected twice into the Senate, and represented Taraba Central Senatorial District between 1999 and 2007.

He was also a two-time gubernatorial candidate in Taraba State.

 

The late Senator studied Engineering and Business Administration at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.

 

He was the proprietor of Ibramiyya Primary and Secondary Schools and Peacock College of Education in Jalingo.
