EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has ordered the restriction of movement across the state.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday, ordered the restriction of movement between the hours of 8am and 3pm in Lagos State on Saturday, July 24, 2021.
The directive was made known via a statement by the Lagos State Commissioner of Information, Gbenga Omotoso, on Thursday.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the restriction of movement in Lagos State is over the local government election slated for Saturday, July 24, 2021.
Governor Sanwo-Olu said, “The restriction is to enable the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) conduct hitch-free elections into positions of Chairmen and Councillors in all the 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas.

“The restriction will facilitate the ease of movement of the electorate, election materials, and LASIEC officials for the sanctity of the election, effective monitoring, and enhanced security.
“All eligible voters are urged to participate in the elections, which require the cooperation of all residents,” the statement read in part.
