BREAKING: Gunmen Attack Police Stations, Kill Policemen

No fewer than seven security operatives have been reportedly killed by unknown gunmen following an attack on police stations in Rivers State.

The gunmen were said to have attacked the police stations on Friday night.

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the assailants attacked a police station along the Rumuji axis of the East-West Road in the state while Rumuji police station in Emuoha Local Government Area was also attacked by the gunmen.

During the incident, two policemen were feared killed, while some vehicles were burnt.

It was further learnt that the gunmen attacked a police checkpoint at Ogbakiri junction in the Emuoha LGA with two policemen feared killed and a vehicle burnt.

Also, a checkpoint of the security outfit called C-4-i along the East-West Road was attacked as three security operatives were reportedly killed by the assailants.

The incident was confirmed by the spokesman for the State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni.

He, however, noted that he would make details available after visiting the areas attacked.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday, was leading a team to the place as of the time of writing this report.
