EKO HOTB BLOG reports that hoodlums have reportedly razed down the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ede South Local Government Area (LGA), located within the premises of the council area in Oke Iresi in Ede town.
The development is coming just a few hours after an INEC office was burnt in Ogun State. The Osun incident happened around 10 am and the firemen were immediately notified.
According to an eyewitness, the swift response of firemen from the Osun State Fire Service restricted the fire to only the conference room of the secretariat.
He however said the room was completely razed down with furniture and some other items destroyed in the fire.
Furthermore, this newspaper gathered that items such as a knife, slices of bread, a keg containing petrol, and a face cap were recovered from the scene of the fire, raising suspicion of arson.
Seun Osimosu, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of INEC in Osun State, confirmed the incident.
