BREAKING: How Sunday Igboho, Wife Were Arrested In Benin Republic — Lawyer

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Yomi Alliyu (SAN), the lead counsel of the Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo well known as Sunday Igboho, has revealed how he was arrested with his wife Ropo, in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
According to the lawyer, Sunday Igboho and his wife were arrested by the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL).
The lawyer made the disclosure via a statement on Tuesday.
He further stated that the Federal Government of Nigeria through INTERPOL arrested Sunday Igboho and his wife, who is a German citizen, on Monday night at an airport in Benin Republic.

Alliyu, who described the arrest of his client as shocking, urged the government of Germany, Benin Republic, and the international community “to rise up and curb the impunity of the Nigerian Government by refusing any application for extradition of our Client who already has an application before the International Criminal Court duly acknowledged”.
EKO HOT BLOG had in the early hours of Tuesday reported that Sunday Igboho was arrested at an airport in Cotonou on Monday night while attempting to flee to Germany.
EKO HOT BLOG also recalls that the Department of State Services (DSS) had declared Sunday Igboho wanted for allegedly stockpiling arms, an allegation he has since denied.
The DSS had raided Sunday Igboho’s Ibadan residence in the Soka area on July 1, 2021, arrested about 12 of his aides, and also killed two of them in a gun battle.
The Federal Government of Nigeria later placed the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigeria Customs Service on alert to stop the Yoruba Nation agitator from leaving the country.
