Senate holds Closed-Door Meeting With Service Chiefs.

 

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Senate is currently holding a closed-door meeting with the Service Chiefs to address the incessant increase of security situation in the country.

 

The meeting started a few minutes past 2.00 pm at the Senate Wing National Assembly Complex on Wednessday.

Some of the Senators present are the Chairman, Senate Committee on Defence,  Senator Aliyu Wamakko; Chairman, Senate Committee on Navy, George Sekibo; and the Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Senator Abdullahi DanBaba.

 

At the time of filing the report, the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, was yet to join the meeting though newsmen observed that he came in about 15 minutes before 2 pm amid tight security.

The meeting had to be delayed for his arrival.
Recall that the Opposition lawmakers had given the President Muhammadu Buhari a six-week ultimatum to resolve insecurity in the country or face impeachment.
