BREAKING: Iran Launches Retaliatory Drone Attack On Israel

Eko Hot Blog reports that Iran has launched a major drone attack on Israel, the Israel Defense Forces has said, but added that it would take hours for them to reach the country.

“A short while ago, Iran launched UAVs from within its territory toward Israel,”  Bloomberg quoted the IDF as saying.

“The IDF Aerial Defense Array is on high alert, along with IAF fighter jets and Israeli Navy vessels that are on a defense mission in Israeli airspace. The IDF is monitoring all targets.”

Daniel Hagari, an IDF spokesman, said it would take several hours before they reached Israel.

Tehran confirmed the action, with Iranian state TV reporting: “A significant drone operation by the IRGC against targets inside occupied territories has started.”

The announcement came shortly after Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was prepared for a ‘“direct attack from Iran”.

“Our defense systems are deployed, and we are prepared for any scenario, both in defense and offense. We will defend ourselves from any threat and we will do so calmly and with determination,” the prime minister said.

The United States had earlier warned that Iran could launch a major attack on Israel with more than 100 drones and dozens of missiles aimed at military targets inside the country.

The US State Department has issues a travel advisory to Americans in Israel not to move outside major cities in order to be protected by the Dome missile defense system.
