Vice President Kamala Harris (Democratic Party presidential candidate) has picked Tim Walz as his running mate for the November 2024 presidential election.
Harris made the decision in an address on Tuesday.
EKO HOT BLOG ealier reported that Harris had narrowed her list of potential vice presidential candidates to two key contenders: Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro.
Who is Tim Walz?
Timothy James Walz, born April 6, 1964, is an American politician, former U.S. Army non-commissioned officer, and retired educator who has served as the 41st governor of Minnesota since 2019.
A member of the Democratic Party, Walz previously represented Minnesota’s 1st congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2019.
Walz was elected governor of Minnesota on November 6, 2018, defeating Republican nominee Jeff Johnson, and was reelected in 2022 against Republican nominee Scott Jensen.
Analysts believe that his extensive experience in both state and federal government was probably the reason for his selection.
With Walz’s emergence, the battle is now set for the November 5, 2024 presidential election.
The 2024 United States presidential election will be the 60th quadrennial presidential election, set to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
Kamala will face off against Donald J. Trump, the 45th President of the United States, in the upcoming election.
Trump, determined to reclaim the White House, is taking a second shot at the presidency, setting the stage for a thrilling and potentially historic contest.
