The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), identified as SP Laree, who was recently kidnapped in the Pankshin local government area of Plateau State has been released.
The information was disclosed by his family sources.
Laree was reportedly abducted on Thursday at a Hotel in Pankshin central zone of Plateau State three days after he resumed to his new posting as the DPO in Pankshin.
The ransom paid to the kidnappers to get the DPO released is still yet to be disclosed.
A family member who pleaded anonymity revealed that the police officer has regained his freedom and has been reunited with his family.
Meanwhile, the police public relations officer of the Plateau State Command, DSP Alfred Alabo could not be reached to confirm the release of the DPO at the time of filling this report.
