Breaking: Lagos State Government Announces Schools Resumption Date

The Lagos State Government under the watch of Babajide Sanwo-olu has ordered all public and private schools in the state to reopen for the second term of 2020/21 academic session from Monday, January 18, 2021.

Confirming a statement signed by Kayode Abayomi Head, Public Affairs Ministry of Education 4th January, 2021.

In the statement titled, ‘All public and private schools in Lagos State to resume 18th January 2021’, The Ministry also admonishes all schools in the state  to imbibe the power of modern technology and make virtual learning available to all students.
Mrs Folashade Adefisayo also enjoined teachers, students and visitors to wear facemasks at all times, observe physical distancing, embrace regular hand washing with soap under running water and maintain a high standard of personal hygiene within the school premises as a proactive measures to cushion the spread of the virus.

She said the statement is in line with the Federal Government and NCDC directive coupled with the second wave of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

It is pertinent to utilize technology in schools to make learning flexible where students and teachers who feel sick can teach or learn from home via available online platforms.  Such as the Classroom in Your Home initiated by the lagos state government.
