Nigerian Authorities Provide Update On Payment of N-Power Stipends

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS) says the November payment process has been initiated in respect of stipends of N-Power beneficiaries.

NASIMS gave this update in a post on its known Facebook page on Thursday.

While the November payment process has been initiated and crediting of accounts begins shortly, kindly note that all outstanding September and October stipends will definitely be cleared. We appreciate your patience so far. Thank you!

N-Power Stipends

Dubbed as the largest post-tertiary employment programme in Africa, the Muhammadu Buhari government sees the N-Power scheme as one of its major achievements.

Headquartered under the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, N-Teach is the most popular of the National Social Investment Programmes (N-SIPs), which also focuses on health, agriculture and public finance. Due to the deficiency in the number of teaching staff in public schools, many “unemployed graduates” are deployed to schools in order to complement the efforts of the staff on ground. They receive N30, 000 (around 73 US dollars) monthly stipends.

N-Power Batch C

On 26 June 2020, online enrolment for N-Power Batch C beneficiaries commenced and within 48 hours, more than 1 million applications were received on the online registration portal. One week after the online registration portal opened, three million applications were received. Batch C will only run for 12 months with two streams recruiting 500,000 per annum. The first stream started in August 2021.
