BREAKING: NEC Gives FCT, Kwara, Others One-Week Deadline to Decide on State Police Creation
The National Economic Council (NEC) on Thursday gave the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Adamawa, Kwara, and Kebbi states a one-week deadline to submit their positions on the proposed creation of state police.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Governor Duoye Diri of Bayelsa State made this announcement to State House correspondents after the 146th NEC meeting held at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.
According to Diri, these four entities are the only ones yet to submit their positions out of the 36 states.
He explained, “Regarding the state police, the council was updated on the submissions, and it was reported that 33 states have already submitted their positions, while Adamawa, Kebbi, Kwara, and the FCT are the only remaining entities.”
Diri further clarified, “The council has mandated these remaining states and the FCT to submit their positions within the next week. We also resolved to present a consolidated position on the state police from all the states at our next NEC meeting.”
