  • The Taliban have formed government, Afghanistan Gets a new President

EkohotBlog reports that the co-founder of the group; Mullah Baradar will lead the newly formed government for the country. Announcement to be made shortly, close sources to the extremist group revealed on Friday.

This is coming in the midst of their battle with rebel fighters in the Panjshir Valley and struggle to readdress the country’s economic collapse.

Our platform learnt that Baradar, who is heading the political office of the group controlling Afghanistan following America’s exit will be joined by Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob, the son of late Taliban co-founder Mullah Omar, and Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, in senior positions in the government, three sources said.

An official of the Taliban said on anonymity that “All the top leaders have arrived in Kabul, where preparations are in final stages to announce the new government.”

Haibatullah Akhunzada, Taliban’s supreme religious leader, will continue to focus on religious affairs and governance in line with Islamic doctrines; another Taliban source revealed.

Monitoring events, it has become public knowledge that several thousand fighters of regional militias and remnants of the government’s armed forces have massed in the rugged valley under the leadership of Ahmad Massoud, the son of former Mujahideen commander Ahmad Shah Massoud.

Negotiation for peace seems to have collapsed. Joe Biden; President of America had said in his speech to Americans that the country should be left to Afghan leaders to renegotiate the future of their country.

The international community and observers across the world are monitoring developments in the country closely. Economic experts and United Nations have raised concerns on poverty, food crisis and violation of human rights.

“Afghanistan remains a country of interest,” an observer noted.
