Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday announced that the country has confirmed sixty four fresh COVID-19 Cases.
The agency made the announcement in its daily situation report of COVID-19 on its official twitter page.
According to the agency, of the 64 New cases, 34 are confirmed in Lagos, 15 are detected in Abuja, 11 in Borno while Taraba and Gombe have two cases each.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 1337, with Lagos, the epicentre of the outbreak, having more than half of the total cases — 764
However, of the 1337 confirmed cases, 255 have been discharged while 40 deaths have been recorded.
The 64 fresh cases is coming on the heels of the announcement made by president Muhammadu Buhari in is nationwide broadcast to have the lockdown imposed on Lagos, Abuja and Ogun relaxed. lockdown imposed on Lagos, Abuja and Ogun relaxed.
The President had imposed the lockdown on the 29th of March as part of the efforts to tackle check the spread of the virulent infection.
