EKO HOT BLOG reports that Odunlade Adekola, a Nollywood actor, has been appointed as the Ogun State Government’s ambassador for health insurance.
Dr. Tomi Coker, the state’s commissioner for health, made the announcement during a health insurance scheme event on Monday at the Ogun State Health Insurance Agency in Abeokuta.
The action, according to Coker, was a continuation of the February 6, 2022, formal introduction of the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund and Health Insurance for the Informal Sector.
Coker said, “The health insurance scheme has multiple schemes in one basket. We have registered 50, 000 vulnerable people in the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund and the Health insurance for the informal sector running actively since its formal launch by Governor Dapo Abiodun in February.”
The Commissioner opined that the Adekola was beckoned as the Ogun State Health Insurance brand ambassador due to his fame, brilliance and impact in the movie industry, adding that he’s capable of influencing the promotion and engaging the general public in the insurance process.
