Breaking: Northern Govs, Sultan, Senate President, SGF, CoS, IGP Meet In Kaduna
Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan, Northern Governors, Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambari, and Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, are in crucial meeting over insecurity in the North and in Nigeria.
The meeting, which kicked off at the Council Chambers of Sir Kashim Ibrahim House Kaduna 12pm on Monday, and was hosted by Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna state, also had in attendance the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, and FCT Minister, Malam Mohammed Bello.
The governors present at the meeting include the host, Malam el-Rufai, Chairman Northern States Governors Forum, Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state, Governor Bello Matawale of Zamfara state, Deputy Governor of Kano state, Alhaji Nasiru Gawuna, and Deputy Governor of Katsina state, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, among others.
Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state is being expected as at the time of filing this report.
The Northern Traditional Council members in attendance apart from the Sultan include the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, the Emir of Bauchi among other Emirs and traditional chiefs from across the North.
Although the reason for the meeting was not made known as at the time of filing in this report, this online news platform gathered that the meeting may not be unconnected with the security situation in the country, the post EndSARS protest tension and on how to further calm the youth in the region and engage them in positive dialogue.
