BREAKING: OAU Student’s Death: Osun Court Sentences Adedoyin, Others To Prison

  • Osun court has sentenced Adedoyin and six others to prison

  • They were remanded in prison over death of OAU student, Timothy Adegoke.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that an Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State capital, has remanded owner of Hilton Hotel in Ile Ife,  Rahman Adedoyin and six other suspects to prison over the death of Timothy Adegoke.

Rahman Adedoyin is the Chairman of Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife, Osun State, the last known place that Timothy Adegoke lodged prior to his death.

Adegoke, an MBA student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, died under suspicious circumstances at the hotel.

Adegoke, who has since been buried, had arrived Ile-Ife to write his examination and lodged in the hotel before meeting his death.

Adedoyin’s son, who is also a suspect, is still at large.

During the trial, It was gathered that one Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) was stationed in front of the Court as three other police patrol vans were also stationed at the entrance.

Security operatives were at the entrance of the Court, checking all the people entering the premises.

Recall that it had earlier been reported the trial of, will commence on Thursday in Osogbo.

Adedoyin and Adedeji Adesola, Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwale Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem and Adebayo Kunle had previously been arraigned before Federal High Court in Abuja on counts bordering on conspiracy, unlawful interference with a dead body, altering and intent to destroy evidence and murder.

But counsel to the family of the deceased, Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, had written to the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, asking that the matter be returned to Osun State, where the crime was allegedly committed.

Upon return to court on February 7, the prosecutor withdrew the matter.
