EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Supreme Court will today deliver judgment on the appeal filed by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last governorship election in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede, against the victory of Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
It was gathered that a seven-member panel of the Supreme Court, led by Justice Mary Peter-Odili fixed 12 noon today for the court’s decision after taking final arguments a moment ago from the lawyers representing the parties.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the main appeal filed by Jegede and his party (PDP) is challenging the competence of APC’s sponsorship of Akeredolu for the October 20 governorship poll.

The PDP candidate asked the apex court to nullify the nomination of Akeredolu and his deputy, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on the ground that they were not duly nominated by their party.
There are also three cross-appeals by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), APC and Akeredolu.
