BREAKING: Osun Assembly Takes Final Decision On N129.7bn 2022 Budget

Osun Assembly has taken final decision on N129.7bn 2022 budget.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Osun State House of Assembly on Monday taken final decision on N129.7bn 2022 Budget by passing into Law.
Recall that Governor Gboyega Oyetola had on the 5th October, presented the 2022 Appropriation Bill christened: “Budget of Sustainable Development” to the State House of Assembly.
The N129,756,459,790 passed budget has N53,893,627,990 for Recurrent Expenditure, which represents 41.30 per cent, while the Total Capital Expenditure is N75,862,822,800, representing 58.70 per cent.

In the breakdown of the budget, N11.8b was allocated to Education, N5.9b to Health, N6.1b to Agriculture while Infrastructure gets a whopping N18.8b.
However, while passing the budget into law, the Speaker, RT. Hon. Timothy Owoeye at plenary commended his colleagues and the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation for their painstaking effort in considering the 2021 Appropriation bill.
Owoeye warned that no Agency of Government or Ministry should tamper or alter the official figures in the 2022 budget, stating that such act will be taken up as a criminal offense which may attract serious legal implications.
He also said the budget will reduce poverty and bring dividend of democracy to the good people of Osun State.
The 2022 appropriation bill is expected to be transmitted to the Governor for assent any moment from now.
