EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Oyo State House of Assembly has approved the nomination of Barrister Bayo Lawal as the new Deputy Governor of the state.
The approval is coming few hours after the Assembly removed the Rauf Olaniyan.
This online news platform had earlier reported that Oyo Assembly on Monday removed Olaniyan, a native of Igboho from office, following the recommendation of the panel of inquiry set up to investigate him.
All the 23 PDP legislators at the plenary supported the recommendations of the panel.
The state assembly started the impeachment process against the embattled Olaniyan after he defected from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Some of the allegations filed against Olaniyan are; Gross misconduct, Abuse of office, Financial recklessness, Abandonment of official duty, Insubordination.
However it was gathered that the assembly has approved the nomination of Lawal as the new Deputy Governor.
The name of the new Deputy Governor was sent to the House by Governor Seyi Makinde.
The lawmakers approved the nomination of Lawal during their plenary in Ibadan
The majority leader, Sanjo Adedoyin said that the nomination was in order.
Kazeem Olayanju, who also spoke, supported the nomination.
