EKOHOTBLOG reports that there was pandemonium at the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, on Thursday as a final year student of the institution was shot dead by suspected cultists.
It was gathered that the student was gunned down at a cafeteria near the faculty of management science around 9am on Thursday.
An eyewitness disclosed that a group of suspected cultists trailed the victim to the cafeteria before one of the assailants brought out a gun and shot the unidentified student in the head.

The eyewitness added that the student died on the spot, noting that the situation caused serious panic in the institution.
“Students and people started running helter-skelter and we are writing exams now,” the eyewitness said.
As gathered by EKOHOTBLOG, the incident was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of the university, Harcourt Whyte, saying, “Those guys have been arrested and the police is investigating.”
