BREAKING: Police Inspector Shot Dead In Ondo

Tension is currently mounting in Akoko South East Local Government Area of Ondo State following the murder of a Police Inspector in the area.

It was gathered that the slain officer identified simply as Lasisi, was shot dead at a check point on Ise-Akoko-Isua road, border towns to Kogi and Edo states.

It was gathered that the hoodlums went away with his gun after killing the officer.

A police source who accompanied the late inspector told Press that the rest officers at the checkpoint were lucky as they escaped unhurt.

He said the remains of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue of Ipe Akoko General Hospital in Ondo State.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Femi Joseph, who confirmed the incident, told Igbere TV that men of the command were already on the trail of the hoodlums while an investigation into the matter had begun.
