BREAKING: President Buhari Lands In Imo

  • President Buhari has landed in Imo State.

EKOHOTBLOG reports that President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, landed in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

It was gathered that President Buhari landed at the Sam Mbakwe Airport in Imo State around 09:30 am on Thursday.

The President was received at the Imo Airport by the South-East Governors, led by the Chairman of the South-East Governors, and the Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, host Governor, Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, among other Igbo leaders.

EKOHOTBLOG reports that President Buhari is expected to commission some projects in the state and meet with Igbo leaders and other Igbo groups.

EKOHOTBLOG reports that President Buhari’s visit to Imo State had generated some controversy as members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) vowed to disrupt the President’s visit.

The pro-Biafra group’s Director of State, Chika Edoziem, had announced a sit-at-home protest in the state and four other southeastern states via a Radio Biafra Broadcast, saying, “Buhari is not welcome to Imo on Thursday, September 9, 2021.”

However, the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), while reacting to the IPOB’s threat, vowed that it will not hesitate to crush people who want to cause trouble during and after President Buhari’s visit to the state
