President Buhari has made a new appointment.

EKOHOTBLOG reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Dr Usman Abubakar as the new Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Bida, Niger State.

The approval of the new FMC Medical Director was made known via a letter signed by the Minister of State for Health, Dr (Senator) Adeleke Olurunnimbe-Mamora, on Thursday.

According to the letter, the appointment took effect from September 14, 2021, for an initial term of four years.

Before now, the new MD was the acting Medical Director and the Head of Clinical Services and Training of the centre.

However, President Buhari, while congratulating Dr Abubakar, enjoined him to work hard to ensure that the FMC was positioned to provide quality health care services to the people.

“….I urge you to justify the confidence reposed in you by this appointment and work with all stakeholders for industrial peace and harmony in support of Mr President’s Next Level Agenda,” Senator Olurunnimbe-Mamora quoted President Buhari to have said.

On his part, the new MD, who appreciated President Buhari for the appointment, pledged to do everything humanly possible to lift the standard of health care delivery services in the centre.

He also promised to uphold the code of ethics of the medical profession and that of the civil service.
