EKOHOTBLOG reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has on Monday unveiled Nigeria’s digital currency, e-Naira.
This online news platform reports that President Buhari unveiled the currency at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The event had in attendance the Vice President, Yemi Osibanjo; the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele; the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami; among others.
It would be recalled that the e-Naira was earlier slated for unveiling on October 1, 2021, but was shifted due to activities on the Independence Day.

The CBN had said the e-Naira is a culmination of several years of research work in advancing the boundaries of payments system in order to make financial transactions easier.
The apex bank added that the launch of the digital currency is a major step forward in the evolution of money just it vowed to ensure that the e-Naira, like the physical Naira, is accessible by every Nigerian.
