Tinubu To Address Nigerians Amid Nationwide Protest

President Bola Tinubu is set to address the nation.

Eko Hot Blog reports that Tinubu will address Nigerians in a broadcast on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 7:00 am.

Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, disclosed the development in a statement issued on Saturday.

Ngelale said, “Television, radio, and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to plug into the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) for the broadcast.

“The broadcast will be repeated on the network services of the NTA and the FRCN at 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm on the same day.”

Although, Ngelale did not disclose the reason for the broadcast, it is believed that the president may want to address the citizens over the ongoing protest across the nation.

The ongoing 10-day protest in Nigeria, which began on August 1, has turned bloody and violent with many lives lost

The demonstration tagged the #EndBadGovernance protests was birthed as a response to widespread economic hardship triggered by the removal of fuel subsidy by the President Tinubu-led government.
