The Rivers State House of Assembly led by Rt. Hon. Victor Oko Jumbo has sent out invites to screen the Caretaker Committee, CTC, Chairmen, and members for the 23 local government areas of the state today.

Eko Hot Blog reports that this development follows the expiration of the tenure of the elected chairmen and councillors of the 23 LGAs in the state.

The governor of the state, Sir Sminialayi Fubara, had on Tuesday directed the Heads of Local Government Administration to take over the leadership of their councils till further directives.

The development sparked a crisis with the outgone chairmen loyal to former Governor Nyesom Wike insisting they would not vacate office.

However, a memo sighted by Vanguard correspondent and signed by Clerk of the House, G.M. Gills-West on Wednesday, reportedly invites 23 persons to appear before the house for screening as CTC chairmen.
