EKO HOT BLOG reports that all the major roads in Lagos State were on Saturday deserted as motorists comply with restriction of movement order by the state government following the Local Government and Local Council Development Area elections in the state.
The ever-busy Ikorodu Road, Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, Lekki-Epe Expressway, among others were practically empty with only a few vehicles on essential services were seen moving on the roads.
Scores of residents of the state were also seen in different activities as businesses and shops remained closed.
EKO HOT BLOG, however, reports that the distribution of election materials has commenced in Ikeja.

Officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) were on ground at St. Anglican School, Ikeja, to distribute election materials such as ballot boxes and slips to voters.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that there was a heavy presence of security operatives at the venue as party agents and electoral officials coordinated themselves for the commencement of the local government election.
The election, which is expected to be held across the 20 local government areas and 35 local council development areas of Lagos State, would be conducted by LASIEC to elect chairmen and councillors.
