BREAKING: Scores Feared Dead As Boat Catches Fire

• Scores have been feared dead as boat catches fire.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that many persons have been feared dead when a cargo boat caught fire in Port Harcourt, capital of Rivers State.

The boat, popularly known as market boat, was conveying traders to an unknown destination when it caught fire at Bonny/ Bille/Nembe Jetty at Port Harcourt township area.

The fire, which reportedly started around 10am on Monday, is still raging at the time of filing this report

However, the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained but onlookers suspected that a careless smoker may have thrown unspent cigarette into the boat.

Eyewitnesses told The Nation that a woman and three of her children on board were feared dead

It was learnt that one of the rescued occupants of the boat was badly burnt.

This is the fifth fire incident in the State since the weekend.
