In line with the current investigation into the shady activities of the suspended Boss of the Economic and Financial crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr Ibrahim Magu by the Presidential Committee on Audit of Recovered Assets (PCARA), the Federal government has directed intelligence agencies to build up surveillance on the headquarters of the commission and its branch offices across the country.
The intelligence operatives are said to have been deployed to the headquarters of the commission, to monitor movements of persons in and out of the commission, especially Directors, Investigators and others members of staff, who worked on criminal cases under Magu’s watch.
It is also gathered that Senior Investigators staunch investigators of the agency close to the suspended EFCC Chief, known as ‘Magu Boys’, are being watched with keen interest as their movements have equally been restricted as they await their investigation.

Some of the officials yesterday appeared before the Justice Ayo Salami led presidential panel investigating the 21-point allegation of corruption and insubordination levelled against Magu by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami.
Security sources reported that a combined team of Riot Policemen and operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS), besieged the residence of Magu in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, his private home in Karu and his official residence in highbrow Maitama. The source further reported that the operatives were detailed to conduct searches at Magu’s houses in search of evidence against the former EFCC boss.
Mr Magu, a former Boss of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), had been suspended by President Muhammadu Buhari, due to the criminal allegations levelled against the anti-graft Agency’s erstwhile Chairman.
