BREAKING: Senate Declares Gov Okpebholo’s Seat Vacant, Calls for Bye-Election

The Senate on Wednesday officially declared the seat of Governor Monday Okpebholo vacant and called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to organize a bye-election to fill the position.

Okpebholo, who represented the Edo Central Senatorial District, vacated his seat after being elected and inaugurated as the Governor of Edo State last month.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio made the announcement following a valedictory session held in honor of Okpebholo by the Senate.

Akpabio encouraged the Governor to maintain his legacy of good governance as he embarks on his duties as Edo State’s leader.
