[BREAKING] Strike: Court Gives Fresh Directive To Resident Doctors
- Court has given a fresh directive to Resident Doctors.
EKOHOTBLOG reports that the National Industrial Court (NIC) sitting in Abuja has ordered the striking National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) to resume work with immediate effect.
Justice Bashar Alkali of the NIC gave the order while ruling on an interlocutory injunction filed by Toochukwu Maduka (SAN) on behalf of the Federal Government (FG) on Friday.
Justice Alkali, however, based his judgment on the prevailing health cases of Nigerians and the need for the striking Resident Doctors to resume duties as essential workers in curtailing the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
EKOHOTBLOG recalls that the NARD had embarked on strike on August 2, 2021, demanding that the FG should review the memorandum of understanding and other agreements reached with the body.
