EKO HOT BLOG reports that the main appeal filed by Jegede and his party (PDP) is challenging the competence of APC’s sponsorship of Akeredolu for the October 20 governorship poll.
The PDP candidate asked the apex court to nullify the nomination of Akeredolu and his deputy, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on the ground that they were not duly nominated by their party.
There are also three cross-appeals by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), APC and Akeredolu.
