EKO HOT BLOG reports that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Ideato North and South federal constituency in Imo State, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, has reportedly escaped assassination.
It was gathered that the attack happened on Friday night.
Narrating his ordeal on Saturday via his Facebook page, the House of Representatives hopeful said some persons in his convoy “have not been seen”.
“Few minutes ago my convoy was attacked by armed militia loyal to agents of the state govt.
“Some persons in the convoy have not been seen as I type.
“I have said it that if the police leadership can’t arrest those which evidence have shown are part of a well-organised conspiracy to assassinate or frame me, then it means Nigeria is in danger,” he wrote on his known Facebook page.
Ugochinyere also accused the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, of trying to harm him.
At the time of filing this report, it is still unclear the exact location where the attack occurred in Imo State.
