BREAKING: Tensions Rise as PDP Rejects Edo Election Results, Heads To Court
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially rejected the results of the recent Edo State Governorship election, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a media briefing in Abuja on Monday, Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Amb. Umar Damagum, voiced his party’s dissatisfaction with the outcome, insisting that the people of Edo State rightfully voted for their candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, and expect him to be declared the governor-elect.

Damagum urged INEC to use the provisions in the Electoral Act to amend what he described as a flawed process. He emphasised, “INEC must retrace its steps and ensure that the will of the people is honored.”
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the PDP leader also alleged that there were prior warnings about plans by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in conjunction with a “compromised INEC” and the Assistant Inspector General of Police overseeing the region to manipulate the electoral process.
