BREAKING: UCH Doctors Embark On Strike
- The Association of Resident Doctors, University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, has declared an indefinite strike over unpaid salaries of some of its members.
- Hussein listed the months the doctors are yet to be paid to include January, February, March, and April.
The Association of Resident Doctors, University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, has embarked on an indefinite strike over unpaid salaries of some members.
Dr Temitope Hussein, who made this known in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Saturday, said the strike action was to protest the non-payment of four months of some members of the association
Hussein listed the months the doctors are yet to be paid to include January, February, March, and April.

He stated that other issues also included the non-enrolment of some members into the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS), which he said was affecting the payment of their emoluments.
It would be recalled that the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) had in April suspended its indefinite strike after ten days.
The Resident Doctors had cited “new agreement reached with the Federal Government” as the reason for suspending the industrial action.
NARD had demanded the payment of all salary arrears and review of the current hazard allowance to 50 percent of consolidated basic salaries for all health workers.
