BREAKING: Unknown Gunmen Kidnap Varsity Lecturer, Student, Others

  • The Deputy Director of Information Communication Technology of TASUED, Ijebu-Ode, a student of FUNAAB, and two others have been abducted by unknown gunmen.
  • It was gathered that the abductors demanded N50m ransom from each of the victims.

The Deputy Director of Information Communication Technology of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijebu-Ode, Mrs. Lateefat Abimbola, a student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Toyinbo Olayinka, and two others have been abducted by unknown gunmen.

Olayinka, who is a 400-level student of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management, was kidnapped by the gunmen on Saturday from a farm at Abule-Itoko on the Abeokuta-Ibadan Road in Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State, while Abimbola was kidnapped in Ijebu-Ode on Thursday.

Olayinka was reportedly abducted along with the owner of the private farm, identified as Dominic, and a 17-year-old Togolese girl.

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the abductors of the FUNAAB student and two others have contacted the wife of the farm manager, demanding N50m ransom from each of the victims.

Speaking on the TASUED lecturer’s abduction, a source disclosed that Abimbola was kidnapped last Thursday around 7 pm at a junction next to her home in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

The source further revealed that her abductors had not reached out to the family.

While confirming the incident on Sunday, the FUNAAB Head, Directorate of Public Relations, Kola Adepoju, said Olayinka was kidnapped where he had lived for three years.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who further confirmed the abduction, said the Command had been briefed.
