The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has imposed a ban on the use of firecrackers and knockouts in Abuja during the Christmas celebrations to ensure the safety of residents.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, stated that the ban is aimed at protecting lives and property throughout the festive season.

According to a statement from the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the measure is in place to prevent any potential hazards and ensure peace within the community.

Disu emphasized that firecrackers and knockouts could cause unnecessary panic, anxiety, and pose significant risks, including fire hazards and other preventable accidents.
