Brother Kidnap Sister, Demands N10m Ransom From Father

The Taraba State Police Command has apprehended one Abdulbasit Umar, for allegedly kidnapping his sister Amina Umar and demanding N10m rasom from his father.

The police arrested the 22 year-old Abdulbasit Umar alongside two other accomplice, Sadiq Sani and Abdullahi Habib for the kidnap of the 10 year-old girl on her way to school.

The prime suspect, Abdulbasit Umar revealed that he devised the plan in order to get money from his father to study abroad.

He said “my aim was that after collecting the money, I will proceed with my education abroad.”

One of his accomplices, Sadiq Sani, who claimed to be a childhood friend of the major suspect, said he connived with his friend to help him get money from the father.

It was gathered that police arrested the suspects on their way to pick up a N4m ransom they later settled for in order to release the abducted girl.
