EKO HOT BLOG reports that Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes has taken a swipe at the club’s former players turned pundits; Roy Keane, Gary Neville and Paul Scholes, calling them liars and attention-seekers.
Fernandes, who was heavily criticized by the trio during Manchester United’s 7-0 defeat to Liverpool, has admitted to going over the line with his emotional on-field antics, but claims the criticism was overblown.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, the Portugal international said: “We all know pundits have to say something to keep their work. The more bad things they say, the more work they get, sometimes. We all have to live with that, but for me, it’s about my teammates being okay with that.”
He further stated that most of the comments made by the former Manchester United players were “complete lies” and just for the purpose of seeking attention.
“Whenever they are not okay, I would like them to tell me so I can calm myself down. Most of the things that were said after that game were complete lies. Some of the things they say are just to seek attention.”
Bruno Fernandes has seen himself earn criticisms following his antics of waving his arms around in frustration and berating his teammates during games specifically in a match against Liverpool.
The midfielder has been a key figure for Manchester United since joining the club from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, and has helped the team to reach the top four in the English Premier League.
Manchester United will be hoping to bounce back from after losing key man, Lisandro Martinez to a season ending injury against Sevilla in the Europa League.
