EKO HOT BLOG reports that sources close to the 30-year-old Portuguese midfielder confirmed that his representatives recently held talks with Al-Hilal officials over a potential transfer that would not only double his current wages but also offer him the chance to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup in December against elite clubs such as Real Madrid, Red Bull Salzburg, and Pachuca.
Fernandes, United’s standout performer last season, scored 19 goals and clinched the club’s Player of the Year award for a record-equalling fourth time. Despite being under contract until 2027—with an option to extend—his future remains uncertain, especially amid United’s ongoing post-season tour of Asia.
United’s new manager Ruben Amorim attempted to calm speculations after the team’s 3-1 win over Hong Kong on Friday, saying: “My feeling is that Bruno wants to stay. He is saying no to a lot of things. Every time we speak, I feel he wants to continue with Man United. But you never know in football.”
However, Fernandes himself has yet to publicly commit to staying, fuelling talk of a possible departure. Reports suggest Al-Hilal are preparing a formal £100 million offer—one United may find difficult to refuse, especially as Amorim looks to fund a squad overhaul.
If completed, the transfer would represent a huge profit on the £47 million United paid Sporting Lisbon in 2020. Fernandes has since made 290 appearances and scored 98 goals, becoming a vital figure in the club’s recent campaigns.
While some United fans see Fernandes as irreplaceable, critics, including former captain Roy Keane, have questioned his leadership style and on-field discipline.

Despite reassurances from the club that they are “relaxed” about the situation, all eyes now turn to Fernandes, who holds the key to whether he stays in Manchester or makes a sensational switch to Saudi Arabia.
