President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Brigadier-General Buba Marwa (rtd) as the New Director-General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Marwa’s appointment was announced on Friday.
Recall that ALEDEH had reported that the tenure of Col. Muhammad Abdallah (rtd), who was appointed on January 12, 2016, had expired on Monday, January 11, 2021.

The new appointee is a retired Nigerian army officer who served as governor of Borno State, and then Lagos State during the military administrations of Generals Ibrahim Babangida and Sani Abacha.
Until his appointment, Marwa was the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Drug Abuse.
