Buhari Echoes His Faith In Tinubu To Sustain Administration’s Tempo

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Buhari, expressed his confidence in the incoming President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to maintain the progress achieved during his tenure. Buhari conveyed this message during his speech at the Presidential Fleet Review, 2023, held at the Naval Dockyard Limited in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Buhari affirmed that the upcoming administration would continue to foster the strong relationship he had established with the Nigerian Navy by providing the necessary support whenever required.

In his own words, he stated, “I have no doubt that the incoming administration of President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will sustain the current tempo of my administration in giving the Navy necessary support to effectively carry out its assigned tasks.”
During the event, Buhari commended the Nigerian Navy Special Boat Service for their remarkable combat displays, which showcased the combined efforts of the Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Air Force. He expressed his expectation that these demonstrations would translate into the actual ability to secure Nigeria’s maritime environment and utilize its abundant resources for the socio-economic development of the nation.
Reflecting on his administration’s endeavors in strengthening the Navy Fleet over the past seven years, Buhari highlighted the acquisition of 20 capital ships, including offshore patrol vessels, landing ship transports, hydrographic survey vessels, seaward defense boats, helicopters, as well as over 300 inshore patrol vessels and assault craft.
Nonetheless, Buhari expressed his optimism that under Tinubu’s leadership, the Navy would continue to procure new assets, expand shipbuilding for export purposes, encourage local production, intensify the fight against piracy, and address issues concerning crude oil theft in Nigeria’s maritime domain.
