Eko Hot Blog reports that, according to the report, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of diesel from ₦1,200 to ₦1,000 per litre.
This is the second price cut in the past three weeks, with the initial reduction from ₦1,600 to ₦1,200 per litre.
In a statement, the company said, “In an unprecedented move, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a further reduction of the price of diesel to from 1200 to 1,000 naira per litre.” The refinery stated that the price reduction is expected to “positively affect the economy and ultimately reduce the high inflation rate in the country.”
Reacting to the news, Bashir Ahmad, the former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle and described the announcement as “the best news tonight, followed by PSG hammering Barcelona out of the UCL.”
Ahmad’s enthusiastic response underscores the significance of this development, as the reduction in diesel prices is expected to have a positive impact on the Nigerian economy and potentially contribute to the alleviation of the high inflation rate that has been a concern for the country.
The report highlights the continued efforts by Dangote Petroleum Refinery to provide relief to consumers and businesses through these price adjustments, which are seen as a welcomed move in the current economic climate.
