Buhari Finally Reacts As US Soldiers Rescue Kidnapped American In Nigeria

Buhari’s aide, Bashir Ahmad has reacted after US soldiers invaded Nigeria in commando style to rescue one of its kidnapped citizens.

Bashir said the media who carried the news deliberately excluded Niger, where the American was initially kidnapped from.

Bashir said the media did that to attract more Nigerians to curse Nigeria.

He wrote:

“The @NBCNews deliberately excluded Niger and mentioned only Nigeria so they can get the target retweets and attract more Nigerians to curse Nigeria. They knew Nigerien will not take such information as an excuse to curse their country. Some Nigerians are already doing it gladly”.

However a Twitter user replied him:

“Nigeriens will not curse their country because they are a country of almost homogeneous people.
Little or no ethnic tension.
A certain tribe of Niger doesn’t think they own the country and are born to rule.
The president of Niger does not make lopsided appointments and stratify his country into 97% and 5%.
Until you make every Nigerian feel like a Nigerian, you fools will continue to have angry Nigerians curse and piss on this shithole”.

Meanwhile Femi Fani-Kayode has lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari and military forces in Nigeria after the 27-year-old Philip Walton, taken hostage in Nigeria by armed men was rescued.

The former Minister of Aviation, mocked the Buhari government, accusing it of being good at killing its own citizens, alluding to the shooting of unarmed #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki area of Lagos State.

“Congrats to @realDonaldTrump! The @HQNigerianArmy is only good at killing its own citizens and the Nigerian President is only good at ordering them to do so. Shame on you!” The PDP chieftain tweeted.

The Washington Post reported that the American citizen was kidnapped on Tuesday in Masalata region, Niger, and the Pentagon said US Navy SEAL Team Six led the overnight operation in northern Nigeria, where fighters loyal to al-Qaeda and the Islamic State had bases. It noted that none of the service members was injured in the raid.

The newspaper quoting a US official who was not authorised to speak on the matter said the assailants forced Watson from his farm in remote Masalata on Tuesday, demanding more than $1m from his family, who are missionaries, and threatened to sell him to extremists.

According to The Guardian (US), in a statement issued as the President campaigned in Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon, he said, “Last night, at my direction, the United States military conducted a successful operation to rescue an American hostage in Nigeria, kidnapped just 96 hours earlier. United States Special Forces executed a daring nighttime operation to rescue their fellow American with exceptional skill, precision and bravery … The former hostage is currently in good health and has been reunited with his family.’’

It was reported that Walton reared camels, sheep and poultry and grew mangoes near the border with Nigeria. He was said to have been abducted by six men armed with assault rifles on motorcycles who forcibly took him away.

His abductors reportedly left his wife, young daughter and brother behind.

Despite support from French and US forces, Niger, like most countries in the Sahel region, grapples with disorder as groups with links to al-Qaeda and the Islamic State battle the army and civilians.
