President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with governors at the presidential villa in Abuja over the perennial widespread insecurity bedeviling the nation.
Ekohotblog reports that the meeting is coming weeks after the killing of over 40 rice farmers in Zabarmari community of Borno state.
Following the incident, Babagana Zulum, governor of the state, had said his counterparts had agreed to meet with Buhari over the security challenge.
Kayode Fayemi, governor of Ekiti and chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), had also disclosed the plan of the governor to meet with the president.

The president is, however, expected to address a joint session of the national assembly on state of the nation, especially as it regards the issue of insecurity.
The development comes one week after the house of representatives summoned the president following the worsening security situation.
